Customer Video Review Length:: 12:15 Mins

Note- I own the four camera system. The cameras and app are the same for the two camera and four camera system (no NVR included with the two camera system), so I wanted to share my thoughts on this product as well. Below is my honest review of the cameras and app:

Over the past few months, we’ve had quite a few break-ins throughout the neighborhood. Security systems with monthly fees are very expensive, so we began our search for a home security system.

The system comes with 2 indoor/outdoor cameras and a phone app to view the video surveillance.

The cameras: You’ll get 2 cameras with this set. They’re incredibly easy to use. Just attach the antenna, screw in the base, and plug in. That’s it! The cameras automatically know when to adjust to day or night vision. The picture is clear and crisp. You’ll have the option of LD or HD video! Keep in mind you’ll be able to store more video footage with LD vs. the HD. The HD video looks amazing, but I’m happy with the LD footage captured by the camera as well. The cameras will sense even the slightest of movement, so you’re sure to capture the video you need. The camera’s housing is superb- the study exterior is tough enough for the outdoors, yet visually they’re appealing enough to use indoors as well.

The App: You’re also able to connect your smart phone up to the camera system to get real-time video and alerts. The app is a free download, but I’ll include it in this review, as it is an important component to the system. The system and app can connect up to 8 cameras, so it’s possible to purchase more cameras separately and add to your system. You can configure each camera to schedule when to record and how/when to notify you when it senses movement. This is definitely an added bonus for me- I’ve got some cameras inside and some outside. I only want to be alerted for the outside cameras (the cat trips the inside camera and sends alerts), thankfully with this system I can turn individual camera alerts on and off as I need. From the app store, I can see that there have been several updates to the app this year.

So how easy was it to set up the system? I’ve spent hours trying to set up security cameras in the past. The Zmodo Wireless system comes with concise, easy-to-read directions and pictures. Assembly and set up was really easy. First, I assembled each camera (screw on the antenna, plug in). Next, I plugged the NVR into a power source and my router (included with the four camera set, not the two camera set). The last step was easy too- download the app and sync it with the NVR and cameras. Follow the directions and you’ll have your camera system set up in no time.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with my experience and pleased with my purchase! I’m looking into purchasing a system for my father as well.

I received this product at a reduced rate in exchange for my honest review. I hope you found my review helpful!

I have used this camera set for a week now and here is my feedback – both positive and negative

    Positives
Literally less than 2 minutes, Power on camera, download app, click and + sign, and enter wifi password on your device. Now you can view the images from anywhere within your house or literally anywhere in the world.

    Alerts
It has been designed very intelligently. It is not stupid to send you an alert each and every motion detection. Example: If you wake up at 7:00 AM, you will get an alert, you keep moving around and you will not get an alert, then you leave home and come back home at 6:00 PM – then you get an alert, it can be enabled/disabled on your mobile device.

Photo & Video capture from App: If you see something on your app – you can instantly record video and capture images on your mobile phone

    View:
The images and the alerts can be viewed on your mobile phone or on your PC – web based interface

    Build:
Solid build – no doubts – fully weather sealed and tested by dunking in hot water

    Other aspects:
    * Night vision with about 24 Infrared LEDs – important because some of the other cameras in the market have a LED light which does not really light up the area very well. The 24 LEDs do a good job of lighting it, Infact almost like a flash light
    * Long power cord means you can keep your camera outside far away from your power outlet
    * Stand can be mounted on the top or the bottom of the camera – Yes ! very thoughtful design
    * Stand has a swivel to move it up/down and sideways
    * App is the best part and I think it has the most powerful app of other cameras that I have seen.

    Negatives
    * Does not have a Reset button, I inquired customer support and they said that it is not required since the App will ask for wifi password if it is incorrect.

First off I did not buy mine on Amazon, but this info I am passing on can help those that have the newer fios router/modem. I picked this little unit up along with 4 outdoor wifi cameras. I was so disappointed that the camera would not connect through the meshare software, I called customer support to find some kind of solution. I spent 45min on the phone with tech support to no avail. They recommended I send the unit back and issued a RMA. I had the unit boxed and ready to drop it off with FedEx when the other cameras came in, I try to connect those up also, but had the same results. I went back into the router settings and found under the advance settings where you can select the different types of protocols. I was running the WPA2 mix with some other security. I click on the drop down box for that area and found the legacy setting for older devices. Once I selected that security level all of the cameras came to life. If you are not getting a connection through the “meshare” software make sure your router/modem is in the right protocol that is support by the cameras.
