Once again FunLux has put out another great camera system, December 28, 2015

I have become such a fan of FunLux and the ease of use their products have and this camera system has confirmed their quality products.

I already own a 4CH NVR system that as a 500GB NVR and it so is wireless so the setup was so easy to do. My video shows how to set up this camera as well as how to navigate the MeShare app and the camera was actually up and running in one minute.

In the box you’ll find the cameras, antennas, power supplies, mounting brackets and the hardware. This uses the MeShare app which is free of charge and available for both iOS and Android. In order to get it on my iPad I just selected the iPhone version because they don’t have a iPad app available at this time but it still works the same.

After you download the app, you’ll want to register your account and then you’re ready for set up. I have a wireless network extender in my house and that’s what I have my NVR system plugged into so I wanted to be on the same wifi to do this set up so you’ll want to make sure that just for the setup that your phone is connected to the wifi you’ll be using. After that you can view it from anywhere that you get either a data or wifi signal.

You’ll simply plug the camera into an electrical outlet and once the light in the front turns from green to blue, it’s ready for the setup. Open the app and in the top right corner is a + sign so you click on that to add a camera. You’ll notice that on each camera is a series of letters and numbers and the last two numbers are going to show up on your list of cameras to select from. When it comes time to name each one I just put the number in until I know where it’s going to go so I can keep track of what camera I’m dealing with. After you press the + button next to the camera and name it, enter the password at the bottom and then press the red check mark.

A screen will pop up asking if you want to share is but I always select Later because I don’t have a need to share it but I can always do it later in the settings. And guess what? You’re done! Simply repeat the same process of adding each camera and then unplug them and mount them where you want them. I would suggest having the app open so you can see what the view is before you actually mount it. You’ll still be able to move it up and down and side to side after you do that but I made the mistake of thinking I had one of my outdoor cameras mounted properly and all I did was aim it at my gutter so I had to move it. You can mount them anywhere that you’ll get the wifi signal that you originally set it up to.

I do show you live video both indoors and out and since I already have their wifi cameras I’ve included a night shot showing you how good the IR night vision looks. The Cloud services are coming soon and I don’t know what type of packages or pricing will be but they should send you information once they have it available.

The one thing I really like about the MeShare app is that you can use it for not only FunLux but also Zmodo and MeShare cameras as well. Prior to having this I had multiple cameras all using different apps so it was a real pain to try and view each camera so I love the ease of using just one. My Zmodo camera was offline in this video because I unplugged it to plug this camera in since I was out of outlets in that room that I could use.

I highly recommend this FunLux system and I’m beyond thrilled with the picture quality and the ease of use.

I hope you find this review helpful.

Great for the price but the Cloud service needs work!!!, December 12, 2015

This review is from: Funlux® NEW Outdoor 720P HD Smart Wireless Security Camera System — Remote Access in Seconds (Wireless Phone Accessory)

Customer Video Review Length:: 4:36 Mins

As a product expert, I have reviewed very similar security systems in the past year alone. This new system is yet another option from Funlux. They are one of the bigger company’s that offer somewhere between mid range and higher end security cameras. Now this specific page features different sets of cameras and the one I got to test is the 4 set 720p HD cams. I have already reviewed the same system which included an external 500GB hard drive (This package does not include an external drive) otherwise everything else is exactly the same therefore my review will be very similar minus a updates. Please read along for more details:
I respect anyone’s opinions posted but please do understand that receiving an item for free doesn’t take away from my unbiased review.
This is a first class 4 channel security system. It comes with 4 cameras that can record in 720P video in color during the day and in B/W during the night using excellent night vision capability. The cameras are made of aluminum and very high quality and they are rated to IP66. That is dust tight and water tight to a stream of water at 26.4 Gallons Per Minute at a pressure of 14.5 PSIG. There is a plastic sun shield on the camera that is adjustable.

    What’s in the box?
    * 720p 4-Channel DVR
    * Four 720P Bullet Cameras rated to IP66
    * Mounting hardware for the cameras.
    * A 4CH Power Supply for the cameras. It is UL approved and it is rated to operate at 100 to 240 VAC and 50/60 Hz. Its output is 12 VDC rated at 3 amps.
    * User Manual and Quick Start Guide
    * A good printed instruction manual.

-The number one problem currently is that videos cant be saved since MeShare cloud service is “Coming soon” and this alone could be a deal breaker.
    – The cameras rely heavily on MeShare which is the app compatible with both android and iOS. The app on iPhones and iPad works fine for the most time but occasionally the servers get very busy and it does not give you access to the cameras. The android version of the same app is horrible. I gave up trying it after 15 minutes of working with it.
-No hard drive recording which means you would rely heavily on cloud storage which would mean using MeShare.
-The adaptors connecting to the camera are not properly insulated and if you are installing these outdoors, you would need to make sure that no water can get in.

In my video I show the unboxing and I also show MeShare App for the Apple devices. You can also use Android devices using the Android app.

I tried to cover a lot of detail in the video to help you select this unit and to set it up. The unit has a lot of features that I could not cover but it is a very well designed and powerful security system. I rated it at 5 stars not because its the perfect package but rather because its an excellent quality product. The cloud service would of course make this the perfect package but until then it will do for the price range.

I was supplied a sample for test and evaluation in exchange for the sample but I stated that if I provided a review that it would be fair and honest.

Amazon return policy causes issues with this set, January 15, 2016
Richard T. Wood (San Marcos, CA United States) –

    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
One camera works fine.. The second camera night vision/IR is not working..completely black at night.. Which is fine, I would be fineSo here is the BAD.. Because they come in a pack of two, Amazon will not replace just one camera, I have to send both back. As a disabled veteran it is not easy for me to climb ladders and is quite painful. So thanks Amazon, your policy on this is crappy and it will affect how much I spend or what I buy going forward.

The one camera that works.. Works very well and it was very easy to setup. I would have given 4 to 5 stars if it was not for Amazon’s return policy on this item.

Changed it to 4 stars.. Amazon customer service got a hold of me and they made things right.
